     This series is about the coming-of-age of a nation and its people, as they move toward personal and social growth in striving for a self-rule govenment.

     In doing so, we see that in one aspect, this novel takes an insightful and satirical look at the struggles of British Guiana in becoming Guyana, an independen South American nation.

     In another aspect, this series look at the interaction between the rich and poor, as they move toward the goal of creating a self-sustaining republic.

     Still, in yet another aspect, the series look at the expected and accepted silent voices of women in determining the state of their marriage, and therefore, their role in this institution.  Hence, this series look at the women's non-particiaption in determining their own future.
